This is a level 1 FSCE™ Course - 2.5 to 3 hours with Quiz

This course is a 2.5 to 3 hour competency based training program designed to educate participants in the fundamentals of through penetration firestop systems. The course is non-proprietary to particular brands of firestop fill materials. It explains the building codes and standards pertaining to the firestopping industry. The course presents a systems based approach to through penetration firestopping and includes detailed information on how to read and select proper firestop systems. It also covers a wide variety of as-built conditions that are encountered on projects daily and offers code compliant solutions for such conditions. The goal of the course is to equip the participant with the knowledge essential to properly manage firestopping from design, to installation, to quality control, and through the inspection process.

This is a level 2 FSCE™ Course - 6 to 8 hours with Quiz

This course is a 6 to 8 hour competency based training program designed to educate participants in the fundamentals of inspecting through penetration firestop systems, fire-resistive joint systems, and perimeter fire containment systems. The course is non-proprietary to particular brands of firestop fill materials. It covers the building codes and standards pertaining to the firestopping industry and will cover in detail the inspection standards ASTM E 2174 and ASTM E 2393. Both the destructive and witnessed verification methods will be discussed. The course presents a systems based approach to firestopping and includes detailed information on how to read and inspect firestop systems and manufacturer's engineering judgments. The goal of the course is to equip the participant with the knowledge essential to properly inspect firestop systems. Attendees include building officials and inspectors, plans examiners, design professionals, facility managers, and QA/QC contracting personnel.
